As an entity under public law, the decision by DAK-Gesundheit to introduce a digital whistleblowing system marks an important step toward greater transparency in the event of abuses and legal violations. This is an essential part of a healthy and modern company culture, where integrity and legally compliant conduct are given the highest priority. Early and informative reports make it possible to address abuses quickly, thereby minimising significant risks and preventing financial harm or reputation damage to the company.
The purpose of an anonymous whistleblowing system is not to pillory other people, colleagues or managers. It is intended as a way to confidentially and securely report abuses within a protected environment and with preservation of anonymity. This option is also available with the whistleblowing system for customers, insured parties, providers, service providers and third parties.
Casting suspicion on another person can lead to serious consequences for that person. For that reason, the whistleblowing system has to be used responsibly. Whistleblower are asked to only provide information that they are convinced is correct to the best of their knowledge and belief. Knowingly submitting false information can result in prosecution under criminal and labour laws.
Reports which are submitted are investigated by the DAK-Gesundheit compliance officers. They are reviewed and processed in detail. By setting up a secure postbox, the whistleblower can receive feedback while retaining anonymity, allowing them to remain in contact during processing of the report.
To address any concerns about the protection of anonymity or possible reprisals and to clear away any associated reservations, the whistleblowing system of DAK-Gesundheit allows you to submit your report entirely anonymously. By providing this specially secured communication platform, DAK-Gesundheit allows you to protect your anonymity while actively assisting with the investigation of abuses and possibly even criminal conduct. Compliance with the requirements under data protection law is guaranteed.
Whistleblowers who do not wish to use the anonymous whistleblowing system can also send reports confidentially to the compliance officers via the compliance email address of DAK-Gesundheit (compliance@dak.de).
